Happy New Year! After a great break with my family, I started my year with the SEEK conference in St. Louis, followed by returning to Grand Junction, planning the semester, and starting spring outreach on campus!
It was so good to experience SEEK anew through the eyes of our students! I spent most of my time with the men going to talks they were interested in, but it was also so freeing to break away occasionally to spend time with Jesus in Adoration and prayer.
Through the talks, my conversations, and my prayer at SEEK this year, the Lord has sparked a fire in my heart to reach the men of our campus through the message of authentic masculinity. God has given men the great opportunity to become living images of the Father in their love, and I am so excited to explore and share this more!
The Saturday before classes began there was a small club fair, so we brought donuts and event flyers to meet and invite new students. My highlight this day was running into Minhtam, a friend of Gabe and Drew I'd met once last semester, and inviting him to a game night that week - he came!
Brian and Ally entered a race in Moab the next Saturday, so we got a group together to drive down and cheer for them! This is all of us at the finish line.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
- 1 Corinthians 9:24
It was my teammate Ally's birthday this past Sunday, so after Mass we went to breakfast together with some of our students. It was certainly all the more joyful for being with Jesus in Mass right before, which is such a powerful way we can witness to the world!
You are making a difference not only in my life and the lives of our students, but also in those that will come to know Jesus through them. Thank you for making the Great Commission possible!
In His Love, Zach
FOCUS is making all the amazing SEEK24 talks available for free! I would especially recommend the keynote by Msgr. Shea.
