I hope that February has gone well for you! So much has happened this month, from our first Upper Room meeting, getting back together with SEEK pals, entering Lent, and going on retreat with our students!
My favorite highlight this month was our first ever Upper Room at Mesa! Modeled after Jesus gathering with the Apostles, at Upper Room we gather all our disciples together and form them in how to be more intentionally on mission on campus (see top image).
Since Valentine's Day overlapped with Ash Wednesday this year, we celebrated it early by giving out roses with mass info for the next day! The students were really grateful for the roses, and people started coming to us because of their friends telling them too!
On Ash Wednesday we had two masses on campus, and manned a table all day to tell people about them. We answered a lot of people on campus confused about why we were calling Valentine's day Ash Wednesday or wondering what it was about, and we had about 80 students total come to mass!
We've had two of our biweekly men's nights so far, and they've been very successful in uniting the men in our community. We start the nights with confession and prayer, and then have a fun activity! This past week, Nadine had car trouble and we banded together to help, which was a fun surprise!
At the end of the month we went on a weekend retreat led by our student leaders. They did a good job giving talks and sharing their testimonies, and Fr. Carl, a young priest, came to give us Mass, Adoration, and confession! It was great that most of my Bible study came!
Thank you for supporting me in this mission through your prayers and generous giving! It is such a blessing to be part of the work Jesus is doing on our campus alongside you!
All Glory to Jesus, Zach
